ABC New Orleans/Bayou Chapter started out our 50th year with a Women in Construction Brunch at Tableaux in NOLA. We had an expert panel of women from various aspects of the construction industry, made up of Lauren Champagne (EXCEL), Lauren Gibbs (Gibbs Construction), Anne Teague Landis (Landis Construction), and Krissy Lirette (Performance Contractors) which was moderated by Kelly Theard (Deutsch Kerrigan, LLP). To start the meeting, we were graced with Senator Bill Cassidy speaking to the attendees on the importance of Women in the Industry, and how far we have come.
The women on the panel were asked hard questions about their roles, how their company does business, and what it is like leading in a male dominated industry. The session was highly informative, and plans are in the works for more Women in Construction events.
