2017 Chapter Committees

Help Us Help You...
We're looking for the next generation of ABC leadership!

Our Committees are open to all member company employees. When you participate in one of the Chapter Committees, you have first-hand involvement in shaping membership services & growth.

Let's make the most of your membership!  If you're interested in volunteering, please contact our office at (504) 468-3188 to set up a meeting with a staff liaison.

Apprenticeship & Craft Training Committee

Merit Pac (Political Action Committee) & Political ADVOCACY COMMITTEE
Chair: Phil Rebowe - Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC

Description: To provide a means for endorsement of & contributions to political candidates who best support the Merit Shop philosophy; to support or oppose any statewide, regional, or local proposition, referendum, constitutional amendment, bond or tax election, or any political cause or issue as may be directed by the Merit PAC officers; to solicit, receive, hold, administer, and disburse funds for political purposes as directed by the Merit PAC officers in accordance with the Merit PAC Bylaws and policies.

Protect and advance the Merit Shop construction industry by working with elected & appointed officials at all levels of government; federal, state, and local. Our main priority is to prevent passage of legislation robbing employees of their right to a private ballot election when deciding upon unionization in the workplace. The right to a private ballot, a cornerstone of our democracy, guarantees workers protection from coercion and intimidation. ABC will oppose any efforts to undermine this through legislation.
